Notes from the CD:  

"These compositions are the result of several years of close collaboration between composer/multi-instrumentalist William Catanzaro and choreographer Milton Myers.  Mr. Catanzaro's characteristic style mixes instruments and musical forms from many different cultures:  Brazilian samba, baiao, chorinho, Argentinean zamba, Uruguayan candombe, Cuban son and guajira, West African and Middle Eastern rhythms create a unique tapestry of percussion.  The approach is orchestral with set patterns, ostinatos and improvised sections.  the powerful rhythmic textures generate an energy that charges the dancers with vitality and force."

" These compositions have been performed by New Danish Dance Theater, The Ailey School, Amsterdam Theatreschool, Extended Dance Co., Philadanco, David Tyler Dance Co., Dallis Black Dance Theater."

Each energetic composition has a continuous and rhythmically constant driving beat all the way through the piece, with polyrhymic accents, which make these pieces excellent for long across the floor combinations and improvisation
